Dan Hilborn DOMP, CAT(C)

Dan Hilborn DOMP, CAT(C)

Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Certified Athletic Therapist

Dan received his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology in 2010 from Western University, my Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) from Sheridan College in 2014, followed by a diploma as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner in 2017 from the National Academy of Osteopathy. Dan has also completed the Titleist Performance Institute program and is a Level 1 coach. Throughout his career he has spent time working with Team Canada Baseball, the Toronto Blue Jays, along with a long list of junior, amateur, and elite level golfers. From his experience working with golfers, he has found that the best method to make permanent changes to our golf swing involves a team approach that includes a swing coach and a body coach. The vast majority of golfers have a biomechanical body dysfunction that is limiting their ability to make an efficient, consistent, and powerful golf swing. If our body is incapable of making an efficient swing we need to correct the body dysfunction first by improving flexibility, joint range of motion, and strength. Once this is corrected the swing coach takes over to improve specific swing mechanics. Through Dan’s experience this team approach leads to better shot consistency, more distance, and less pain while golfing.

Lou Berkovits

Lou Berkovits

Director of the AIM Movement Program

Following the sudden passing of his wife in 2015, Lou decided to follow his interests in the fitness and wellness space and to follow his passion of being of service to others. “I had an overwhelming desire to share with others the many healing practices that I had come to learn and continue to study every day.” Lou is a certified yoga teacher (300+hrs), breathing coach and an avid movement student. A self proclaimed anatomy geek he holds additional certifications as a HIIT Pilates instructor, personal trainer and advanced Thai massage practitioner. “I am fascinated and deeply curious about how the human body works and how we can become the best version of ourselves” Lou was initially introduced to yoga following some needed encouragement by his daughter, Olivia. After trying a few classes he decided that it wasn’t for him. He was accustomed to a different way of training, more specifically lifting weights, anything else didn’t seem particularly appealing. One day he noticed that the gym where he was training had a “hot” yoga studio. Curiosity peaked and after trying just 1 class he was hooked forever! The combination of the heat, great instruction, music, challenging body movements and the energy from the other yogis awakened his body like never before and just plain “felt amazing”!! “I believe that we are all athletes in one capacity or another. Whether a weekend warrior or a peak performing one, we can all become our best selves from having a better understanding of how our bodies work. I strongly believe that we develop and harvest our greatest strength from the inside out. I subscribe to the concepts of mindful breathing, core strength and purposeful movements”.

Scott returns to the GTA this summer, coming off his first year of professional hockey. A roller coaster ride of a season saw him start the year in the ECHL playing with the Norfolk Admirals. The next stop was Evansville Indiana, a team in the SPHL. He played there for the next 3 months, before earning a call up to the ECHL’s Cincinatti Cyclones. Scott played in Cincinnati for a few months until he was traded to the Newfoundland Growlers also of the ECHL. He played for them for a short period until being released back to Evansville where he was welcomed back to help the team with a playoff push. Prior to the start of his professional hockey career, Scott spent four years with the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Men’s hockey team. While playing there he earned a double Majored in Industrial Relations and Environmental Studies.
